Looking at buying a Randall government model millet sight about fifty rounds fired.Any info on Randalls appricated.

Randy V, the Randalls had a unique identification system of a letter followed by three numbers, i.e. A111. The following should help define these designations.

The alpha prefix can be A, B, or C. A - indicates right-hand configuration
B - indicates left-hand configuration
C - indicates right-hand lightweight model

The first digit can be 1, 2, or 3.
1 - indicates Service Model
2 - indicates Service Model-C or Raider
3 - indicates C.E. LeMay Model

The second digit can be 1, 2, or 3.
1 - indicates round top & fixed sight slide
2 - indicates flat top, fixed sight slide
3 - indicates flat top, adj. sight slide

The third digit can be 1, 2, or 3.
1 - indicates .45 ACP caliber
2 - indicates 9x19mm caliber
3 - indicates .38 Super caliber

Some variations are extremely rare, even one of a kinds. The most popular was the A111 with 3,421 being made. Today this gun in excellent condition could be worth about $600-$700. Other variations in similar condition will tend have a higher value due to their relative rarity. Hope this helps!
