A shop I frequent has a Randall 1911 for $640.00. It looks to be like new and has the original box. I was hoping to get some feedback on this pistol. Is this a fair price? When were these made and do they still make them? Were they good reliable 1911's. Thanks for any comments in advance.

According to 20th anniversary issue of Blue Book gun values, the Randall 1911 could be worth $640. The first manf run with serial # A111#### has a 100% value of $680. Pistols manufactured after this go up in value from about $700 (@100%) to as high as $2750 (100% - but this one is a 9mm version - supposed to be VERY RARE). So, unless this Randall is in really bad shape, it would probably be worth the $640. And with the box, well... I had a friend who sold a 1940's era Winchester lever action that was NIB. He got $450 for the rifle and another $300 for the box, which was in like new condition. The box, if it is the correct one (ie serial numbers match) can make that pistol worth the $640. IMHO. Any further info, email me. Jim

Randalls have an almost cult following that are willing to pay absurd prices for the right example to complete or enhance a collection.
I have a friend whose fondness for them borders on obsession.

Randall's, siiiiiigh, I had a pair (right and left handed) that I sold. :(

If you should happen to run across a pair of Randalls in a russett double holster rig, River belt basket weave pattern, Tom Threepersons holsters. Say hi to 'em and tell 'em I wish I had 'em back.

If the web site is up.

BTW, my Randall magazines are the best ones I have. And I've got a bunch of different maker's magazines.

No they are not made any more. They were very well made pistols.
