RAM (Real Action Markers) any experience?

Hi there!

I have to admit, I never did it before. But on Saturday I'll be joining some friends with their RAM-Guns practising in an old empty house. These guys are more martial-arts guys and don't shoot half as good as I do with real guns (IPSC is my sport). But this RAM-stuff could be different. I'm excited.

Any experience out there? What should I be focussing on or consider the most?

For those of you who are not familiar with RAM, it is that stuff:

Painball/Gotcha-Guns looking like real Glocks, ARs etc.

I had the MP5 version and tried and tried to get it to work reliably but never did. IMO waste of money. It looks cool sounds cool, but just doesn't seem to be a quality product. I regret wasting 1k on the gun and half a dozen mags just to throw away 6 months later. Others have had better luck but I am soured on their products now. Local PD members tried them out at one time and tossed the idea.

Why is RAM not more popular?

from the ONE (thanks, Mate!) response I got so far I assume that RAMs are not popular in the US. Why? It seems like a perfect realistic and fun means of training....
