Raging Judge Magnum 100 yards

Loaded up some 45 Colt with 23.5 grains of 4227 this was my first time shooting out to 100 yards. Most people told me I wasted my money, this gun is nothing but paper weight, Taurus sucks, you wont hit nothing past 25 yards if your lucky.
I has to prove them wrong. Thats an 8 inch target, the spread is just a hair more then a 4 inch group.

That's a good-looking gun and I must admit, the hands holding it are far more photogenic than most of the mitts we see around here. :)

While I wouldn't call this line of firearms "junk", I do have my misgivings. They stem from the dual-purpose design. Very real engineering features suggest that this gun should perform less well than a similar offering specifically optimized for .45 Colt. The OP obviously did her job and got as much from the gun as I'd ever ask from it.

When I look at these, the obvious draw is .410 and preferably heavy shot. There, it's the rifling that irks me. I'd be curious to see the spread over distance for some 3' 00 or 000 buck. Also, how does it perform with slugs?

45LC out of a Judge with a 6.5 inch barrel is great. It's only when it's shooting .410 that gun knowledgeable folks are up in arms because it's dumber than dumb. . . and hat's the issue. The Judge is marketed as a "shotgun in your pocket" for self-defense.

Since when are hats an issue? Caliber wars, Smith vs Rugers, Taurus are junk and now it's hats?:D

The popularity of both the Judge platform and the Governor is evidence that many folks think they are a good choice for SD/HD. Like any SD/HD firearm, one should choose what they are comfortable with, confident using and are proficient with. As with any SD/HD firearm, gun owners should respect the choices of their fellow gun owners, since they have no idea of their situations, skills or expectations. I don't own a Judge or a Governor, but have shot both. They are not my first choice for SD/HD, but then what I use probably isn't your cup of tea either.......

Yes, and hats off to my Judge Public Defender Poly. With 2" five round groups @ 10 yards with Winchester Supreme PDX 1 225 gr. 45 Colt, and with five pulls of the trigger 20 thirtyfive caliber hardened lead balls all staying in the center of a B27 target at the same distance with Federal Personal Defence 410 Handgun 000 Buck loads. In addition, ballistic gel tests show 14-17 inches of penetration with the Federal buckshot.
But even a bigger hats off to the OP, and great shooting with the Raging Judge.
Internet experts have once again been proven unquestionably wrong.

Girl hand..

Girl Hands. LOL A. S&W 50 is better...LOL.. 45 colt not a big ****. The Taurus was a 45Colt and 410 shot gun rounds...so there is a hell of a gap before the bullet hits the rifling chief. Thus your shots.

Looks cool to me! My wife has a Judge (the normal Judge with a 3 inch chamber and barrel). She does not really like it but it still is cool to carry with a 410 long gun!

The popularity of both the Judge platform and the Governor is evidence that many folks are easily influenced by a glitzy marketing campaign featuring exploding watermellons in slo-mo ......

Fixed it for ya.

:D

Never understood the hate for the Judge line. Makes sense to me for a HD nightstand gun plus they are fun to shoot. Never had the pleasure/torture of shooting .454 out of a Raging Judge. Nice gun op.
