RAF Enlisted Ranks

I have a co-worker who is being transferred to the UK, and he will work as a civilian with the RAF. He asked a question I couldn't answer:
What are the USAF equivalent enlisted ranks in the RAF?

God and soldiers, we adore
In times of danger, not before
With the danger safely righted
God is forgotten, and soldiers slighted

Hmmm...nobody's replied, so I'll give it a shot...
I don't have a clue what the 'equivalent' USAF ranks are, but here's the order of RAF non-commissioned ranks. If you're familiar with USAF ranks, you should see the 'pecking order' equivalents.
From most junior to most senior:

Aircraftsman (AC) (no rank insignia)
Leading Aircraftsman (LAC)(two-blade propeller on forearm)
Senior Aircraftsman (SAC) (three-blade prop)
Corporal (Cpl) (Two stripes on upper arm)
Sergeant (Sgt)(Three stripes)
Flight Sergeant (Flt. Sgt)(three stripes and crown)
Warrant Officer 2nd Class (W.O.2) (crown on forearm)
Warrant officer 1st Class (W.O.1) (royal coat of arms on forearm)
Hope this is accurate..I was Army :D

I guess there's no more pilot-sergeants like there were in WWII. Make me an Wing-Commander. I'll take hotwings over fried chicken anyday.

Well, the USAF changed enlisted ranks several years ago to be more politically correct. Just as the SATs added 100 points to all scores in past years so that they don't look as bad as they are. I.e. based upon the 1964 scoring, today's students average 407 in English and 395 in math. No problem! Add 100 and today's students average 507 in English and 495 in math. In 1964, SAT scores averaged 535 English and 545 math, but never mind ... Support Teachers' Unions! Algore does.

See http://www.iit.edu/~afrotc/guide/AFEnlistedRank.html
for enlisted USAF ranks.

For officers:

Rank US BRIT
O-1 2/LT Pilot Officer
O-2 1/LT Flying Officer
O-3 CAPT Flight LT
O-4 MAJ Squadron Ldr
O-5 LTC Wing Commander
O-6 COL Group Captain

Hope this helps.
