Here's a late WW2 Radom, after the Germans dropped the takedown lever to hasten production.

Hey!

I got me one of those!

$125 back in 1981 or so.

Walked into the local gunshop and said I HAVE to have it.

Pulled the money out of my bank account, grabbed my father (I was all of 16 at the time), and said "Dad, you're going to buy something for me. Say no, and I'm taking the Suburban 4-wheeling this weekend."

He saw the light. :)

For those who may not know. The takedown lever was removed, but there is still a takedown procedure. Pull back the slide and move the hammer drop lever to the down position. Release the slide slowly and the tail of the hammer drop will lock into the deep cut in the top of the hammer, positioning the slide stop at the right point for takedown. Turn the gun on its left side, pull on the end of the recoil spring guide, and the slide stop will fall out.

I guess I should have been more specific, of course there has to be a way to field strip the pistol for cleaning! :)
