I'm new to this site, so I dont know if I'm in the right place. I just got some R&D C.C. for my new 1858 Remington, 44 cal./Pietta. Went through several dozen rounds, then on the 4th or 5th shot, the cylinder blew apart, ruined my gun, the good news is no one was hurt! But not sure what went wrong. My son loaded hundreds of 45 long colts with a Lee Loader, it has a automatic powder measure, 250 gr. bullet, 7 grains of Winchester 231. I have one cylinder left, I heard Trail boss is safer, I might try that, and a 200 grain bullet, but still not sure what went wrong, makes me nervous! Any one have a clue?
