R.A.S.S. Shooting Rest

I had the pleasure of sitting in one for the first time today at a local outdoor store and I was very impressed. I am strictly a handgunner and the rest is developed for rifle use but with just a little tinkering it can easily accomodate shooting bags for hand cannons. The rest and seat pivots 360 degrees and would really be the ticket for use in a ground blind where 100+ yd shots in several directions is available. It's pretty pricey ($399) but heck, I'm in this huntin' thang head over heals so what's another $400 as long as my wife doesn't find out!;)
If anyone has used The R.A.S.S. by RCBS I would appreciate the feedback--especially if used for handgunning.

Why did you have to post this???? I already have my refund check and tax rebate check spent!!!!

Did it look like you could transport it, maybe on an ATV, or is it strictly a set it up and leave it thing?

More salt in the wound....

First thing I have to buy is a scope for my .460. At 100 yds with iron sights I am 50% in the 8 inch circle - not good enough. My problem is 8 inch circle at 100 yds is just too small for my eyes without some magnification.....

Between Father's Day and my birthday, maybe I can get someone to score it for me....

How were you thinking of modifying it for handgun??

All that has to be done is remove the yoke from the front and cradle from the rear and lay a small shooting bag where the yoke was and a pillow/butt bag where the butt lays. If you aren't going to go ahead and get one real soon I guess I will be the guinea pig;)!
By the way, the shooting bags I use are manufactured by a guy up there with you in the Northwest (Doggonegood). Need to check it out. Big bag but prefilled with plastic pellets which makes it pretty light. Also has the pillow bags and saddle bags. Damn good bags.

Later...

I looked at DogGoneGood, but didn't see the bags you were talking about.

Never mind, I found them - wrong website the first time
