Quick... Which is better pistol, Glock 34 or Beretta 92FS?

I like both and can't make up my mind. Pros and cons both ways.

What would you choose? I have access to hi caps for both so it is just down to the strengths and weaknesses of both guns to make the choice with.

For what? I like and use the Glock series, and can't stand the slide-mounted safety on the Berettas, so my mind is already made up between the two.:)

I like the Glock's light weight, feel, and consistent trigger. The Beretta seems fatter in the grips to me and has that annoying DA/SA trigger. I'm wierd, so I like a CZ-75B better than either but they should both be quality pieces.

92fs...it is what I learned to shoot with and have grown to really appreciate the way it feels in my hands, its accuracy, dependability & reliability.
I have a G17. Not as accurate, but defineately more durable that the Beretta, but honestly, I'll never wear out either.
If I could only have one, I'd go w/ the Beretta ;)

Shoot both. I thought I really wanted a Glock 34 until I shot another of their 9mm pistols. Now I don't want any Glocks.

I'd get the Beretta between the two of those, but I'll also throw in another vote for a CZ-75B with plenty of 15-rd mags and ammo; you'll still come out ahead.

No way to lose whichever you pick. In lieu of stating the obvious choice, buy both, my preference would be the Beretta.
Take Care

I have owned both and shot each extensively.
Neither gun ever failed me in any manner.
You don't mention what your intended purpose is for either so, as far as a general all around 9mm handgun, both are fine guns and will serve you very well for a long time.
They are obviously two different types of actions/systems so it would be up to you which you prefer.
BTW, I no longer have either gun. :D
I don't recall why I sold the 92 but I sold the G34 to buy a Walther P99 in 9mmx19.
The Walther is a better gun than either the Beretta or the Glock.

i'd pick the beretta over the glock because there are times when i need a pistol with a safety/decocker and the beretta is IMO the best (i have a 96)

i also like the beretta because there is more "stuff" you can have done to it on the aftermarket (grips, trigger tune...), i also think mags are cheaper

i'd also like to add a vote to look at the cz75

If you can shoot both, that may decide it for you. The ergonomics are very different. You'll probably prefer one or the other.

Me, I'm still one of those people who just can't get past the Glock's looks and trigger, even though I acknowledge that it is a fine weapon. There are a lot of fine weapons out there that don't repulse me with their aesthetics, so I prefer those. But you'll never hear me say that the Glock is a bad firearm.

Not a flame, SDC, but if the slide-mounted safety sucks so much, why on Earth would you use it? It will be just like your GLOCK with the safety disengaged; the only manual safety is the trigger. I never carry my 92 with the safety on.

i have a 92FS and a 92G Elite and 5 Glocks. the 92FS and G34 have some big differences that are very personal; none of us can tell you which you'll like more you have to decide for yourself. hold and shoot both of them to see which feels, points and shoots better for you. also decide whether you like the DA/SA or glock trigger better, whether you like a manual safety or not, whether you want a polymer or metal frame and compare the other differences and see which comes out on top.

No flame taken, 357 Sig:); it's just that when I know there's a safety on a pistol, I can't help but want to USE it. The Glock takes care of that problem for me, even if it IS only a mental thing.

Well, though the Beretta is not a bad pistol, I don't like slide-mounted safeties or DA/SA triggers, so I'd go with the Glock. Especially in light of numerous reports of Beretta locking-block failures after less than 20k rounds. (Admittedly, that's a LOT of shooting to most people other than TFL-ers.) But I note that Beretta also found a need to reinforce the slides on the models that are expected to see more use.

If the DA/SA trigger is not an issue to you, I'd say see which one points more naturally for you and go with that.
