Quick Release Barrel Clamp?

First off, the ATI clamp is plastic and probably wouldn't stand up.

There are flashlight clamps for shotguns that clamp to the barrel or the extension and hold a light in the other end of the clamp.

A possible answer is to simply replace the standard screw with a screw with a "wing nut" type head that could be easily unscrewed a turn or so, releasing the light.

The problem with these is, once the tension is off and the light can be slipped out, the clamp is also loose on the gun and will slide around.

Today, with SWAT and military ops using lights a lot, there are quick-detach shotgun lights available.

Here's one from Speedfeed:

There are others. Do a Google search.

Thank you for the advice. I did find picatinny mounts for mag tubes/barrels, which I could then mount a standard rail light to. I'm trying to keep the weight down as much as possible, having an intertia-driven M2 Benelli. I also wanted the light to be carryable off the shotgun, as I was hoping to avoid spending $250 on a specialized gun light when I already had a perfectly usable Surefire.

The Surefire X200A is listed as "less than 4 ounces", plus probably an ounce for the Speedfeed, so I guess that's about the same as the 4.1 ounce surefire I already have plus a small metal clamp.

I will probably go with the wing-nut suggestion with a metal clamp, and try that out first. If I don't like it, I will only be out the cost of a cheap clamp and wing nut. Thanks again for the tips!
