Hey folks I have either finished or am about to finish building my akm.

To the point, I have did everything but put the rear stock on. When I was about to put the rear stock on I couldn't help but notice how sweet this thing was without it. ( I'm looking into a folding stock ) but as of now is there anything illegal about it or not.

I DO NOT HAVE A VERTICAL GRIP ON THE HAND GUARD.

Although that is one reason I wanted the folding stock so I could have the front grip and incase I had to stretch it out a couple hundred yards the stock would come in handy.

I'm pretty sure that the ban on folding stocks died with the Clinton era assult weapon ban. Unless you lived in a place like CA, NY, NJ, and a few others I think you are good to go. If I were you I'd ask the guys in the NAF forum they would have a better idea as to the legality of it. Just check you local laws to be on the safe side.

Yes check you local laws. What true here may not be there. Also remember, advice is worth what you paid for it, if it's wrong and you do it guess who get in trouble.

illegal about it or not.

As long as your barrel is 16 inches or longer, then none that I am aware of. You may want to check if there is an issue as to total (minimum) lenght requirement for a rifle where you live.

Must have a 16" barrel minimim, and a minimum overall length of 27" according to the Feds, so if you live anywhere in the USA, that would be the minimum restrictions you will encounter. In other places, it may require something more.
