quick detach rings

I want to get quick detach scope rings and use a low power scope for low range shots, and a a higher power scope for open prairie shots. Has anyone done this and had little to no adjustments when you switch them out? I was thinking to do a fixed 2.5x for hunting in the woods in my area and a 6x for hunting out west. I like the simplicity of fixed power scopes and worry that a variable power scope will fail... but I think I'm just being paranoid

with a good variable i wouldnt worry about it.

if you were going to switch out you would want high quality mounts(to mantain zero).

either way its going to cost you.

I've had good luck with ARMS and LaRue mounts and rings. Return to zero has been pretty much right on.

I've also used Leupold lever rings for Weaver rails. They work pretty well too, just a little more cumbersome to use.
