Quick 870 Q

I got my 870 on Thursday; first long arm. I was practicing safety on it with a couple of snap caps. The book says to push the action bar, or whatever, up...when i got it the thing had some play to it. But now it seems to be "stuck" upwards and won't come down...i can't push it in any more and it won't come out...what should I do

there's a slide release right beside the trigger guard, push it while pulling the slide back.

pull the trigger

if your slide release is stick in the up posistion, point the gun in a safe direction and pull the trigger.

make sure the chamber is empty or has a snap cap!

Field strip the shotgun following instructions in owners manual.Now check to make sure forearm retaining ring is tight,if this loosens it prevents the bolt from going completely into battery, and will cause the symptoms you describe.I have had this happen!
