Questions on FLA Permit to Carry

I'm in the military and it's come to my attention that Florida may offer a permit to carry to non-residents which may be reciprocral in other states. Does anyone know anything specific on this issue, and what states may offer reciprocity?

Thanks for your advice.

Florida has a reciprocity law that allows CCW permits obtained in other states to be valid in Florida, as long as that state returns the favor. It is up to the individual state legislatures to recognize a Florida CCW in their respective states.

There is a Federal reciprocity bill pending in Congress (Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-Fla.) H.R. 492) intended to allow all CCW permits valid within one state to be valid in all states.

Here is a link to the NRA-ILA site on interstate transportation of firearms (vintage July 1999 - so be sure to confirm the laws haven't changed):

A quick search on Google (conceal+reciprocity) turned up these links (I only post a couple, there are more):

CCW Permit

Thanks for the links, it seems as if the packing.org link is fairly definitive.

Unfortunately, I'm moving to Arizona where the Florida permit wouldn't be honored. I guess I'll have to go through the whole process when I end up out there. However, I still have a Massachusetts permit which could be helpful if I ever end up in one of the states that honors it.

I took a moment to send an email to all of my members of Congress regarding the bill for reciprocity of all permits. Thanks for that tip.
