    1. Copying and pasting entire articles from another site to TFL is strictly prohibited. The same applies to articles from print or other media, and to posting photographs taken of copyrighted pages or other media.

    2. Copyright law provides for “fair use” of portions of a copyrighted work. You can copy no more than a SINGLE paragraph from the article to your post (3 or 4 sentences at most).

    3. You must provide a link to the article along with the name of website. For example: ww.xxx.yyy/zzz (The Lower Thumbsuck Daily News).

    4. You must provide, in your own words, a brief summary of the article AND your reasons for believing it will be of interest to TFL members. Failure to do so may result in the thread being closed or your post being deleted as a “cut and paste drive by.”

    5. Photographs and other images are also copyrighted. "Hotlinking" of images (so that it appears in your message) from other sites is also prohibited unless you own rights to the image. If you wish to share an image, provide a clickable link to it.

Posts that do not follow these new guidelines will be altered or deleted by staff. Members who continue to violate this policy may lose their posting privileges at TFL.

Questions about using photos

I have read the locked sticky about inserting photos. I know how to attach them to a post. I know how to convert them to URL images.

How do you re-size them?

Why am I not able to insert a photo or attach it to a post if I have attached to a previous post?

Thanks...

Thanks, but I've already downloaded it. I opened the photo and resized it (by half). When I try to insert theimage in my post (from the attachment) it still comes out over-sized.

I know your intentions are good, but suggesting a download doesn't answer the question.

Let me try again:

How do you re-size a photo to fit into your post?

Why can't I submit a photo I've used before?

any number of other applications. Just make sure the downsized photo is no larger than the limits established by the forum application.

RainbowBob, I don't quite understand why Irfanview isn't the solution. You can use it to resize both the physical dimensions and the file size. If your resize question isn't about one of those two options, please explain again.

We don't allow uploading the exact same image twice simply for disk storage reasons. There is no need to upload it twice anyway since you can use it in any number of posts after it's been uploaded the first time. Copy the URL of the attachment (right click on it and get the URL from the Properties), then paste that URL between the [IMG] [/IMG] tags, or you can simply copy the attachment number only (usually a 5 digit number) between the ATTACH tags.
