Questions About Slide Width

Is there any resource that lists the slide widths for various handguns (I've gone to the home pages of individual manufacturers and can't find what I'm looking for). I believe the 9mm Glocks all have widths of 1.18" and the Kahr MK9 around .90" I'm interested in learning the slide width of other firearms suitable for CC such as the 1911, Browning Hi-Power, and the HK P7M8. Thanks.

This is an interesting topic to me. I am frustrated with the dimensions often. There seems to be no standard from where each measurment is taken. For example, one spec. might list the slide width as 1.34 and this may have been measured at the widest part across the safety mech. Another example, is the Steyr S9, on paper it looks smaller than the glock 23/19 series, but in the flesh it is simply the same size. Frustrating. I think Kahr is on the money BTW that is an ideal slide width for CCW. The Glocks are FAT. Goodluck. If it helps 1"= 25.4mm.
