Questions about hot bluing a shotgun

I am going to blue a Remington Premier 12ga shotgun and have a few questions about the project . How is the rib fastened to the barrel ? If it is soldered on will it fall off and contaminate my salts ? Also, is the magazine tube screwed in or soldered ? Lastly , the tube appears to be chrome plated . What will be the result if I put the receiver in the bath with the tube still attached ?

Currently Remington brazes the ribs on, and I "think" they have since at least the 1950's.

The magazine tube is brazed in place. It won't be affected by the bluing process.

I "think" the tube is actually stainless steel, but it's been a while, and I'm not sure.

In any case, nothing should be affected by the bluing chemicals.

since the 50's there ribs have been spot welded on(we have one of there first rigs).yes the mag tube is stanless and it won't hurt it to hot tank it.the only thing you can't blue is the trigger guard.
