My first shotgun was given to me by a family friend. i havent touched it in maybe 10 years.. i took it out to clean it before i took it out. And upon cleaning i remembered Why I bought a new one and never touched it..

it will not extract the shells. The extractor is fine, but what i noticed was the guide rail i guess you would call it is missing. Its an old Westernfield, I would like to repair it and keep it around Any idea on where to get parts? Or should i just take it to a gun smith?

I can post pics later since i have no idea what the part would be called.

Western field model xmh5608a

With any luck you have a store brand made by Mossberg. They made a pile of them based on the md. 500 action. Should be very simple to get a replacement bar.......and you can do the instalation yourself.

Have you taken it down to see if it's missing or if in reality it's broken and part of it is missing?

That would be a good start.

western

I have numrichs cat and its the best to check house brands, also the break down of parts every one should have one just for the reading if nothing else.
there must be a model number there.

I had a break action Stevens 12 ga that the spent shells would not pop out. I sprayed some CLP and works so nice now. Hope this helps.

It's a mossberg 500 i have one i think with the same numbers and
forget how i found the info when i was looking to replace the barrel.
anyway the mossberg barrel fit just fine.:D

Ps the reason i say i think the numbers are the same is they
are very hard to make out!

Good luck
