Question: trigger pins

Why are the pins on the safety disconnect,& hand, loose. They really must get banged around a lot. Do these pins wear much? How about the trigger pin? Just thought I`d ask.

Sorry, I thought you could just guess! I`ve noticed this on a Colt trooper . As a matter of fact ,over the years I`ve noticed this on a few trooper models. The hand & safety disconnect, just seemed loose on their pins.

Assuming you mean the Trooper Mark III or Mark V, not the original Trooper?

The transfer bar and hand are always a loose, rather sloppy fit on the pins. I can only guess they were designed to be so.
In any case, other than an actually broken transfer bar or hand, I seldom ever saw any problems with these.
I can't recall ever seeing a broken, worn, or damaged pin.

As long as the transfer bar or hand isn't broken through the pin hole, the loose fit is not an issue. I have seen some fairly loose fitting parts, but they still worked as designed, and I didn't see any real benefit to a tighter fitting part.
These parts seem to be a case of they're either broken or they're not broken.
If they're not broken they work just fine.
