Securing/controlling the capital city was vital for our initial "regime change", and is as equally important now, to allow the new Iraqi government to gain countrywide authority and support.
We (U.S. and coalition) had Baghdad. Now it is no longer a secured city.
Why and how was the security of this city compromised, allowing the insurgents to take root?
In another forum under another topic, someone quietly snuck this question in, and received no reply. It wasn't my question, and I'm not even sure if the premise is correct, but assuming it is, what might you think is the answer? I only ask to stir the pot, not to disrespect or assign fault to anyone currently busting their hump trying to secure that god-aweful place.
