I always liked busting pigeons from a hand-thrower, then one of those pull-a-string hop out of the groud, spin and hit you in the ankle throwers, but have never shot at a club. I understand the difference between trap, skeet and sporting clays - though it took a while . While checking out the website of the venerable Nashville Gun Club, they have a drawing of their skeet field http://www.nashvillegunclub.com/Skeet/Default.htm
.
I don't think I understand the referee locations. If you look at the diagram, there is a ref. position at the convergence of the pigeon's paths... in the middle of the field of fire. Does someone really sit out there? Is (s)he in a bunker of some sort? Somehow this causes my mind to belch and spin.
Thanks
