Question on S&W/ Husquavarna Mauser vintage

MAD DOG

I found a super nice little Mauser today, a Swedish Husky with a Smith and Wesson logo etched into the forward ring.
This little baby is in mint condition, has a barrel of ~20", open sights, and a very trim, blond walnut stock with laquer finish and well executed checkering. It has what I would call a European style to it, with a nice schnabel and a lot of taper towards the front, with a nice montecarlo cheekpiece on the butt. Rather like a Featherweight model 70, but shorter and more compact. This rifle is extremely lightweight.
Metal finish is a flawless high polish blue.
Caliber is 30-06.

I have never seen one of these before, and I didn't know that S&W ever did anything as sensible as import Swedish Mausers in 30-06.

Does anyone have any idea how old this is, or when it would have been imported?
Current value?

Any info would be much appreciated.

You might try looking at http://user.tninet.se/~qro402y/hvastory.html There is a bit of information on the Husqvarna line. I think yours may be a version of the 1900 series. Not positive though.
Also looking through an older version of the Blue Book I came across the series 4000 Lightweight; HVA Mauser action, .30-06 one of the calibers, 20.5 inch barrel open sights, lightweight walnut stock, pistol grip, Schnabel forend, made 1954-1972.

Hey thanks!
That was really helpful.
Although S&W was not listed as one of the importers, it gave an idea as to when the rifle was produced.
I will dig a little deeper.

1600 Lighweight
1954-1967. 243 Win, 6,5x55, 270 Win, 308 Win and 30-06. 52cm (20") barrel.
The export version could be had with either Monte Carlo or standard pistol grip stock.
