Question on Ithaca 37 barrel swapping

Hi, being from Canada we can order Chinese gun clones soo...

I'm about to grab an Ithaca 37 clone, I haven't decided whether it'll be the standard synthetic stock version or the 'tactical' folding stock version which just looks damn cool. http://www.marstar.ca/gf-norinco/images/YL-1JZ-800px.jpg

Of course the downside is that these are both in 12ga. and they are some of the lightest shotguns around. So before I buy I want to know if anyone has experience in switching out the barrels to a smaller gauge for either the clones or the originals?

I can't help you with the clones, but the Ithacas have a different receiver size for each guage, so a 20 guage barrel will not fit a 12 guage receiver.

I dont know if this will help that much but Ithaca was just reopened in Sandusky, OH. The website www.ithacagunsusa.com has a email for questions about there guns. I would assume any question you have about reciever/barrel swaps would be able to be answered by them
