Into the local purveyor of fine arms came a decent 1873 Uberti- silver plated and engraved, and it has a bit of wear.
It was "customized" by either a gunsmith or a previous owner into an unnatural short throw, and the hammer is so light, I thought it was broken at first. I know a lot of fellers like this style, but...
Is it safe to shoot full house vintage spec hunting loads (either with BP or smokeless) in a gun with a short throw?
If purchased, I'd change it back. I'm just curious.
