Question for you NOVA users

Hello everyone,
I just picked up a Nova SP w/ rifled sights today and was wondering if anyone knows of an online source to pick up the mercury recoil reducer. Also, if you have one, how satisfied are you with the reducer? I love blasting off slugs at the range, but after a couple boxes I am about as bruised as Tyson after a Lewis fight. Thanks for the input.

Nova question

I've got one in mine. Got it from Brownells
http://www.brownells.com/index.html

The p/n's and prices are
301-000-282 14 oz. mercury recoil reducer $43.94
301-000-283 bracket $19.66

You'll need a long screwdriver with a small head to get in there and install it. Works great, actually makes shooting the thing bearable.

Hey there Waynegrow,
I saw this question over on GT and I was going to refer you here. Glad to see you made it on your own. Welcome aboard.

It isn't so much that I am getting pounded, it just becomes less pleasureable after 20 rounds or so. BTW, these are from a bench rest, which doesn't help any.

Benching adds a bit to felt recoil, IMO. I use a wearable pad like the PAST job to reduce the kick and weight the shotgun if needed.

Besides that old thread on mounting, search for reducing recoil and cutting kick. You may find what you need.

Wayne,
You could try a Pachmahr Decelerator pad for the SG. I use these and they make a big difference.
The other thing do try is the Federal "tactical" reduced recoil slugs.
I shoot these and they are very easy shooters. I get them at www.ammoman.com
I was surprised at how little felt recoil they produced.

Biggest thing is to get away from that bench. IIRC, a 12 Ga. with social loads is about the same as a .375 H&H. Lots of recoil there.

Ala Dave, I use a towel folded up and between the butt and my shoulder for benching slugs.
