question for glock owners

I dont have my glock 19 yet but I bought an extra magazine for it. I tried it on my buddy's G19 but it won't hold the the slide open on the last round. I check the follower and its different from his followers. It has 9mm1 stamped on it while my friend has 9mm3 stamped on his. The part which push the slide lock is entirely different from his follower.

I know the last digit which is stamped on it is to ID the mould if there is any problem with production. But the construction of the follower is different. Has anybody experienced the same problem? What will I do with my follower to correct this.

TIA,
vega

I have 15-rounders with both the 9mm1 and 9mm3 followers. I have never experienced a problem with either. If you really want to, you can get a 9mm3 follower and replace the old one.

One of the nice things about dealing with Glock is good service. Just send it in to them with a short note detailing the problem and they will put in the newest follower and replace the mag spring if needed free of charge.

I've tended to send used purchases of mine in regardless of problems or not just to get a new follower and spring for $3 shipping (but don't tell anybody ;) )

Thanks for your replies. Right now there is shortage of glock pistols and accessories here in my place. I'll probably add some rubber to the lip to solve my problem.

I disassembled the mags and found the culprit. I straightened- out the spring and the follower is pushing the slide lock now.

Should get some new magazine springs. It won't take long for that spring to start to fail again and replacements are cheap insurance.

I bought the mag brand new. The end part of the spring was not fully inserted at the follower. I'll know this weekend if its ok.
