Question for CZ52 shooters

I really want one of these pistols! For you guys that have shot them, what parts have you had break and what were the circumstances? I am aware of the firing pin problem, but are there any other spares I need to get ahead of time. The CZ52 looks like it would absolutely be a hoot!

Though I've only fired the CZ-52 on several occasions, I don't own one (yet). But from what I've been told (this is second-hand knowledge here) is that the rollers will occasionally get out of round and need to be replaced.
Maybe someone here can verify that (or dismiss it).

Above bout cover it.
A freebie with them is you can win wagers on distance of thrown empties.

I average over 11 yards with the ejectorate.

Sam is absolutely right. The gun is great for long range shooting...50+yds and accurate....and the ejected shells will hit the guy in #8 and your shooting in lane #1....gotta love it.
Shoot well

Ditto the firing pin, ditto the rollers. I haven't had my CZ long enough to wear out either (don't dryfire unless you replace the pin with one from makarov.com), but I have heard the same thing.

If you fire a lot of the hot subgun ammo, you might want to get a new spring from wolff. The gun is built like a tank, but making sure the recoil spring is stiff enough cannot hurt, and these are surplus guns. You never know how many miles the part has on it.

Only problem I've had with mine was...

This is a decocking safety test - Clear the chamber, close the slide with hammer cocked, then place a pencil with eraser end first in the barrel, holding the CZ52 muzzle up. When you use the decocking position of the safety lever, hopefully the pencil will not move and stay put. Mine sends the pencil out of the barrel, so I will not trust the decocker with a live round in the chamber, no way! There was a warranty retrofit when the first batches of CZ52's came out, but mine never got the new parts. If I can find them, I'll have them installed, or put them in myself.

There's supposed to be a small "Z" stamped into the side of the trigger guard, signifying that new decocker parts have been installed. When looking to buy one of these pocket rocket pistols, take a look.

Mine won't lock the slide back.

The FPs that Mak.com sells will also break if you dry fire, just less likely.

My Harrington FP also tends to rotate some and occasionally comes loose.

My aftermarket firing pin also tends to rotate and come loose. The last time I shot my '52, the firing pin jumped the plunger and hit my buddy in the chin. I never had this problem with the stock gun though.

CZ 52

I shot many rounds thru the CZ 52, have three or four depending on how the broken one is counted ( bent slide from bad reload)

I shoot enough to reload and cast my own bullets.
NEVER had roller problem

BROKE many firing pins till I got my act together. It is just as accurate w/ 9mm bbl as with 7.62 x 25. NEVER put more than 9 gr unique in cast bullet reloads (I use 6 Power Pistol)

Case eject too far? Yer recoil spring is tired and should be replaced with a stronger spring from Wolff.

Slide wont stay back? Blame the magazine follower which tips upward a little "teat" on the slide latch as the last round is expended. If slide latch fails, the follower isnt coming up enough, or it's not the RIGHT magazine and the little "bump" oin the follower isnt high enough (weak follower spring, dirt)

Good shooting
