Question for blackpowder reloaders

Hello All,

I know that plastic, and steel funnels are a no no for pouring powder through due to static charge being developed. My question is would an aluminum funnel be ok to use? I know most people use brass or copper, I would think aluminum would be OK I just want to get your opinions on this.

Thanks,

I use a plastic funnel every time I load my rifle or pistol. Have been for 40 yrs.
It is safe. This with Black Powder. Static electricy will not set off black powder. This has been well proved in many test.

Aluminum is fine and the biggest problem was changing the storage from it's original container, to another plastic or even baggies. .....

Be Safe !!!

I made one out of heavy paper and scotch tape, call me cheap. But I have used the green RCBS funnel with no ill results.

Thanks to all of you

Thank You all, I have been learning more and more from this forum, and that was a very enlightening article.

Thanks again,

Keep in mind the flask that Cabela's sends you with BP kits is made from plastic. You're perfectly fine using a plastic funnel.

You do know that Swiss powder and Wanno comes in plastic bottles.

Even though I didn't ask the original question, I just had one of those "DUH!" moments, thanks.
