Question about slugs and barrels

What's the rule on shooting slugs? Slugs and shotshells should be shot from different barrels correct? I got a Mossberg 500A which comes with two barrels, both unrifles mod. cyn. I believe. What about saboted slugs vs. regular slugs? What should I shoot?

Slugs Question

Having unrifled barrels wont limit you to much. My buddie carrys the 590 heavy police barrel with 18" barrel and shoots both 00 buck and slugs with no problems. As far as slugs go you can get slugs with the rifiling on the slugs. Look into the Brenekke Rottweil,s those are what most guys here in Alaska use for there bear protection.

Smooth bores are idea for both standard rifled slugs and any shot.

The rifled barrels are for shooting sabot slugs ONLY.
You cannot shoot standard slugs or shot from them.
