Question about Sig Decocker

On the Sigs, once you push down on the decocker, do you have to release your thumb from the decocker to make the hammer fall? On my HK, the hammer falls on the push. On my Sig, there is a "click" on the push, then when I let the lever raise, the hammer falls and the trigger resets.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks

Noban-

Yeah, that sounds right. I have a P225, and a P228. They are both like that, and so have all the other SIGs that I have seen. You push the decocker down, and you will feel a "click." After that point, letting the lever return upward (either by removing your thumb from it or by riding it up) will decock the gun.

Hey Tim - Thanks for the fast response and good news. My 226 is brand new (2 hours old!) and I was hoping there wasn't a problem.

On the SIG 220 only, when you press the decocker the hammer automaticaly drops regardless of letup. This is different than most of the other SIG's where the hammer will drop upon letup of the decocker

I believe the old set up for the 220's were that they fall on the down stroke. I think all new Sig's decockers work on the up stroke.

My 220's are older models. I'd be curious to see if this is true as I haven't handled a new 220 lately. Anyone out there who has?

On my P229, I get the "click" and then the hammer comes down concomitant with the raising of the decocking lever back to the starting position.

I've got an old P220 and a new P220. The older drops the hammer when decocker is pressed down and the new P220 lowers the hammer as u let the decocker button ride up, same as the other Sig's.
