Question about Ruger Single Six

I just recieved, as a gift, a NIB Ruger Single Six SS 6.5 inch barrel. I was wondering why the loading gate doesn't line up with the holes. I know that the Vaqueros now line up and I was wondering why not the Single Six? If anyone knows please tell me.

I have had it for about 2 weeks now but have not fired it yet because of school and work. I will shoot it this Sunday and post pics of the gun and the shooting rest she got me. One great anniversary! :D

I have a new model Single Six in the configuration you describe. I'm still new to the terminology, so forgive me if I misunderstand your question.

do you mean the loading gate doesn't exactly line up, same size as the cartridge?

Yes. If the cylinder is spun around until it clicks, you cannot get the cartrige out. You muct spin it a little more so it will line up

Very simply because that's the way it's designed.
The New Vaqs have more room to adapt the mechanism, I doubt you'll see Ruger do it to the smaller guns, but I suppose it's possible.
