Question about Ruger Mark III

So, I put a full magazine in my mark iii.

Is it supposed to drop when I press the magazine release ?

It seem the the bullet is caught by something and I have to pull the mag out.

When the mag is empty, it will drop a bit before the safety kicks in.

Thanks.

I am not 100% sure what you are asking.

The Mags will generally not drop free from the pistol when you hit the mag release. This is caused by the mag safety putting pressure on the mag.

You can get a bushing to remove the mag safety, it makes the mags drop free, it eases field strip by not needing to keep inserting the mag to pull the trigger at certain steps, and it can/might make trigger pull better.

With a loaded mag, hitting the bolt stop should drop the bolt and load a round. Pulling on the bolt and releasing when it it locked back will allow the bolt stop to drop and the bolt will close.

Only the Mkiii does this, the 22/45 will not allow the bolt stop to drop by pulling the bolt to the rear, you need to hit the stop to drop the bolt when reloading.

I know.

But my question is after you load a full mag, when you press mag release, does the mag pop out a bit, just like when it's empty?

Mine seems to be caught on the bullet. Doesn't move a bit when release button is pressed.

no its not supposed to on the mk3 you need to replace the bushings on the hammer to remove the mag disconnect and to get drop free mags. you just need to replace them with mk2 bushings.
