question about obtaining ccw

I live in MI and am looking into obtaining my cpl (for personal and job related reasons). My question is that a little over a year ago *before I was 21* I recieved a misdomenor infraction (no arrest, just the ticket) for minor in posession of alcohol, will this hinder me from being able to get my permit?

Ive done tons of research on the web and have found nothing stating that and MIP in particular is reason to deny an app. The thing that makes me wonder is that it is still up to the gun boards discretion. What I dont want to do is spend all the money for the app and training course just to be denied.

any help/suggestions?

I don't know about MI, but in LA public intoxication arrests and the like will get you denied. This is mainly to keep notorious drunks unarmed, though. I doubt a single offense would disqualify you but check out your state's policy in detail for a real answer to your question.

probably not but one way to get closer opinions is to goto

packing.org and specifically the MI discussion section and ask folks there.

I'd go to a police station and ask what are the requirements for getting a permitt.
DO NOT TELL THEM OF YOUR PRIOR PROBLEM

If they don't find it, why tell them? If you were a minor it might not show up on the radar unless someone mentions it.
