Question about CWP laws

I have a CWP in the state in which I live, and it lasts for five years. If I move to another state, obtain a CWP there, and then move back to this same state, will the permit still apply, or does it become invalid the moment I move out of the state? I am guessing the latter, but am not too sure. Anyone know?

Depends on the the State Laws in question. You would be much better off consulting the laws of each state than trusting "some guy on the 'net.

True, and I intend to, but it's late and the offices are closed, other than the police, and I figure they have better things to do. I will call in the am.

When I moved from VA to KY, my VA permit became invalid due to a residency change. I tried to be a 'law abiding gun owner' and notify the issuing authority, but they just said (in so many words) skip the paperwork and keep it as a souvenir.

This happened to me in 2001 I moved to Va. I had a valid permit in Tn when I recieved my permit in Va I did not have give up my Tn permit. I moved back to Tn in the fall and just so happened my permit was about ready to renew so I just filled out the proper paperwork and renewed with a new address. If it were not for my renewal All I would have done was reported a change in address.
ps didn't we used to have spell check because if we don't I feel sorry for all yall.

Each state is different. If your CHL were from Ohio, and you took up residence elsewhere, you'd lose it. Revoked, by the state.
