Question about Colt "Combat" Python...

Just finished watching "The Game" on TV. The main character, Michael Douglas (everyone's favorite hypocrit anti-gunner) was carrying what looked like a Colt Python 3".

Interestingly enough, I saw a 3" Python at a match I shot in yesterday, only this one was marked "Combat Python" on the barrel.

I've never seen this marking on a Python before. Anybody know anything about it? My knowledge of Pythons is absolutely nil.

Smith & Wesson is dead to me.

If you want a Smith & Wesson, buy USED!

Mike, what is known as the 'Combat Python' was actually a special order of 3" Pythons from a California distributor. At the time Colt had discontinued the 3" Python. The distributors name should appear on the barrel. Combat Pythons will have a similar value to the original 3" production Pythons which were rare to begin with. Hope this helps!
