question about career in LE

I've always been interested in a career in law enforcement, wanting to serve and give something back to the community. Having just recently become an American citizen, I see that I am qualified for several openings that are available with my county sheriff's department. However, there is an outstanding international warrant out for my arrest [see http://www.thefiringline.com:8080/forums/showthread.php?threadid=39269 for more details]. If I apply for a job with the department, will this information come to light and could it land me in trouble?

Be completely truthful in your background investigation questionaire. If you hide something and your background investigator finds out, there will always be this question in their mind, "What else has he hidden from us?"

You Italian badass you.

I don't know man, that's a good one. In my profession (executive in transportation) we fire anyone IMMEDIATELY for falsifying on an application. That's happened to employees that have been working for me for over 10 years.

What I would do is find out if that can get you in trouble. But that's what you're trying to do.

Well, if it can, why would you bring it to light in the first place?

Unless you are into international espionage, I wouldn't worry about it. BUT, research your local and federal laws.
