question about browning buckmark...

i just purchased a browning buckmard standard, and have a question about the dissassembly. how the heck are you supposed to remove the barrel (and put it back)? the manual instructions for the standard get you to removing the slide, and then it says that that's sufficient enough for cleaning purposes, but don't i need to remove the barrel as well to clean it? again, how the heck do i do this? and then put it back?

Look at the front of the trigger guard, just below the barrel. You'll see the screw that holds the barrel to the frame. As the specialist said, you don't need to remove the barrel to clean it; however, you may want to periodically check it to make sure it's tight. Mine would occasionally get loose until I really torqued it down. I haven't messed with it since.

isn't it bad to clean from the muzzle end? how do you prevent all the solvents from dripping on the gun? it doesn't seem like there's enough space to fully push a brush through...

my buckmark is a silhoutte model. but it seams to me all you have to do is remove the screw under the frame once the slide is off but yours may be diffrent then mine and yes much better to clean from the breach not the muzzle

so does anyone take the barrel off their buckmard standard? also, what types of ammo seem to work best for everyone with this gun? i went to the range the other day to test out ammo. i tested out : winchester X, some really cheap winchester, federal classic, and federal gold. i went through a box of each, and although the federal classic seemed to feel the best, my results from each load were pretty much the same. i need to clean it now, and i'm waiting off till i can get a confirmation that removing and reassembling the barrel is an easy procedure.

When cleaning a Buck Mark, I always remove the barrel and clean it from the breech.
