Question about antique shotgun shell values.

I have aquired several boxes of Alcan 25 12 GA, smokeless powder, ultramax, plastic shells, 2 3/4" shells. 3 3/4 1/14-5 shot. I am trying to find out how much these shells are worth and when they were manufactured. The boxes are in excellant condition.

Also, I have a Winchester Super Speed 12 GA paper shell/paper wad marked with numbers on the wad. A Remington Shur Shot Smokeless Wetproof Shot Shells for Kleanbore priming box that contains Peters Target Load #8. Please go to the link attached and you can see the pictures.

If anyone could give me any information on the above I would greatly appreciate it.

I started all this in the late 50s. Can't help you on values but those shells were around then.

Thanks for the memories.

In my area ...collecting older shotshells and older boxes ...has kind of become a thing of the past ...

I think the graphics on the boxes are interesting ... but once you have 10 or 20, or 50 .... it becomes an issue on how to store them, where to display them .... and most guys have lost interest in collecting them...

value at the gun shows ...when I see them ....sellers want too much for them ( $5 - $20 a box ) .... and a buyer comes along and offers them $ 50 for a whole shopping bag full of them ---and they end up taking it ...

On your boxes specifically ...condition is everything ...and they're a long ways from mint ... so a few dollars per box ...maybe $5 tops ...in my opinion.

I own an estate liquidation company and have a father who collects such things as well.

Generally $10-20 a box is what I find them for, if not less.

The better looking the box, the more money!
