Hey,
My brother shot a doe with the T/C 300 gr yellow tip sabot, with his 50 cal.cva 150 grain charge.
The doe was only about 50yds away, but the doe was Quartering away to the left.
Very little blood at the spot where he shot the deer. The blood trail was just small drops, not much bigger than a match head.
The bullet made a exit, high and close to the neck.
The bullet seem to blow up on the side, making a 2" cut but only a 1"exit.
And very little blood at night. I was think we were going to lose this deer, the blood drops quit altogether after about 25 yds.
My brother was on his hands looking for blood on the ground.
I walked ahead about 25 yds in the pine woods of East Texas and there was the doe, stone dead .
I was thinking my brother had made a poor shot at first, with the lack of blood.
But after seeing where the deer was shot, now I'm thinking that the Quartering
shot with these T/C 300gr Yellow tip sabots are a poor bullet.
I had my .50 cal Knight loaded with the Barns 245 spit fires with 150 gr charge.Do ya'll think that the Barn's bullet would have done a better job on the Quartering away shot
