i am toying with the idea of putting qd mounts on my tikka t3 so i could carry a back up scope for when i am in the bush for weeks on end. my current scope is a 3x9 leupold vx1 and its has been beat up plenty and never lost zero but i would still be more comfortable having a back up particularly in a lower power scope for versatility. the issue i am facing is that i am unsure how to go about this on a tikka due to the integral rail. could i mount a rail in the tapped holes and then put warne qd bases on that? would that make the optics higher than comfort dictates? any help would be great as im more of a hunter than a gun aficionado.
