Python Elite

About 5 months ago I have placed an order to buy Python Elite (my dream).
Just checked the status and learned that Colt suspended Python production for at least a year.
What kind of 3.57 Magnum revolver could be compared to Python? Please understand - I am not just looking for a reliable accurate revolver. I wanted Python because it has much more than that - history, fame....

Thanks. Michael.

If you really want a PYTHON for the name and history, you need to find it on the used market. The PYTHON ELITE although looks like the PYTHON and technically a remake of the original PYTHON, is not built like the old PYTHONS were.

If this is your first gun purchase, I would look into a S&W. I feel S&W has a better trigger than the PYTHON.

I'd start looking.
There are still plenty of Pythons, new in the box for sale.

You can also buy an older Python in new to like new for less than a new Elite model.

In other words, just because Colt has limited production to catch up on military orders, is no reason you can't have a new-like new Python.

I've vizited most of the gun shops in my area (central Jersey) and found only two used Pythons with condition far away from like new but the price around $1,200. Last Saturday went to a gun show and did not find any Pythons at all.

Thanks. Michael.

But not in all areas.

There's no guarantee you can just walk into any gun store or show and find boxes of them stacked up.

For the best selection, do your shopping on the internet, or figure on doing some calling and driving.

Colt has been making the Python since 1955. They are not rare, just difficult to locate.

I just bought mine on GB, price was up there for a new Elite, but im nostalgic, plus this had box and papers for the oldies.
