Putting a Lee Perfect Powder Measure on turret press

Just so you know it can be done. I use a lee riser and it threads into a lee rifle charging die that also is used with the lee auto disk measure. This setup allows you to take advantage of the turret press operation when loading rifle cartridges and is especially more flexible than the auto disk. It threads in easily and the little metal insert in the riser I invert it so it goes inside the PPM. Seals up tight and works great.

Yes it absolutely works. Correct threading maybe a wish though. The threads are not exactly the same. You will eventually strip out some threading.
Its plastic so it sort of force fits.
There is a company that sells a purpose built adapter for the PPM it replaces the funnel adapter.
The PPM will fit inside the funnel adapter no problem and operates just as well with out striping the threads. Might have to just support it a little with the off hand.

Here is a link for the adapter:

I was going to buy one of those. Until I came up with some thing different.
I use my RCBS Uni-Flow more for the flake powders I use.
SO I made an adjustable powder stand. I can use it stand alone or as a drop on top of my Turret press. My PPM gets used mostly for stick powders now. Those require trickling to weight. But I could easily make an adapter for the stand if I wanted so I could mount ether.

Have often thought about mounting my Hornady powder measure on the Lee Classic press but think it would be a bit top heavy. Never had any luck with the double disk set up so went with the Hornady and never looked back.

OK, that little device is even better. And it looks like it'd work with .303 too. Think I'll get one, and might even put the rotating spindle back in the turret press...

Lee makes a part that's designed to put the Perfect Powder Measure on a progressive press to charge rifle cases - http://leeprecision.com/universal-charging-die.html . Is this what you're using? If so, there should be no issue of threads not matching. (As i recall, this Lee part also drops the charge automatically as the case rises up into the die, but on a turret press you have to move the handle on the powder measure manually before the next case can be charged. On presses where the head is stationary there's a chain that can be attached to the ram so it resets the measure on the down stroke.)

old thread resurrection.

I would like to do this. how do you guys mount this thing? where do I get the bushing?

Does anybody use the Lee auto drum with the load master press? Thinking of getting that instead of auto disc.
You can get extra drums for it too. And being Lee you know it's priced right.

You gotta clean up the place to take pictures. :-)

Actually it's about normal, kinda cluttered. If I let it get messy it works on my mind.

Have a blessed day,

Leon

Leon. Your loading area is way tooo clean.

And appears to have access to electric lighting! Doubly jealous!

My Lee turret is going to be moved to a new location in about 6 mths: indoors, with light, warmth, access to basic human conveniences. :D

Once done, I may start using it again: since buying the hand-press it's been that at home over the turret in the garage.

I'm so pleased with the consistency of dropped charges from my Lee PPM that I'm going to "adapt" it to my Dillon 650 for use with "rat -CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED--CENSORED- powders".

These adapters look real nice. Now it's just a matter of designing a linkage that will cycle the handle when the press is cycled.
