Put them in order according to overall appeal

I would like some "opinions" God, there I said it ! I am just curious how TFL would categorize the makers of non 1911 handguns. You can throw in 1911's if you wish, but please make
a second list...I like them too.

SIG
H&K
Beretta
Kahr
CZ
Taurus
Glock
Kel tec
ETC!!!!!!!!!

I know there are alot more..but I havent had my coffee !
shoot well

Independent of price I'd say:

1. Top-Quality customized 1911 (Own one, and YOWZA they are great)
2. SIG P210 (Wish I owned one, prices are steep but they are SLICK)
3. HK P7M8 (Wins on cool points)
4. Any other Hk
5. Any other SigSauer
6. CZ
7. Glock
8. Kahr
.
.
.
9. Beretta
10. Taurus
11. Kel-Tec

4-8 are all, in my experience, very close, even though their products are quite different. My experience with Berettas, unlike most people's, has been 75% bad. If you factor in price, then the CZ-75B comes out on top as the value king IMHO.

IMO, some of the choices you listed are on-par with eachother.

1- SIG, H&K, Kahr, Kimber
2- Glock, Beretta
3- Ruger, Taurus

I would put them in these catagories, in that order.
I feel the Kahr (steel frames) are in the same catagory quality-wise (fit, finish, ect) as the Sigs.

However, there's no denying Hi-Points, Jennings, Davis and Lorcin are all some of the absolute best... slightly under the excellent Bryco.

Non-1911:

1) Glock (New Generation)
2) CZ
3) H&K
4) SIG
5) Beretta
6) Taurus
7) Kahr

1911:

1) Wilson
2) STI
3) Les Baer
4) Rock River
5) Ed Brown
6) Kimber
7) Springfield

Putting Them In Order:

Sig-Sauer "P" series
Browning Hi-Power's
H&K's
Glock's
Beretta's
Smith N' Wesson's
Ruger's
Colt's
Charter Arm's

-------------------------------- This Is The Bottom Line---------------------
Taurus

Best Wishes,
Ala Dan

Non 1911:
1. Beretta
2. H&K
3. S&W*
4. Walther*
5. Sig-Sauer*
6. Glock*
* THese can be swapped in any order. I think they are all even

1911
1. Colt
2. Detonics
.
.
.
.
.
9. Springfield: I am seeing alot of rough Springfields lately, from the cheap series up a TRP that was totally garbage. Such things as machine marks, sharp edges, etc.
10. Para: Had high hopes for the Paras, but was very disappointed in all 3 that I had

I'm a 1911 guy, but if I had to choose...

I ranked them on "Appeal Factor" only. I didn't rate fit and finish, and I didn't rate accuracy. Only how the different makes appeal to me. I don't have much experience with many of the designs, so take it for what it is worth. My opinion is based a lot on "armchair research".
1) SIG
2) Glock
3) H&K
4) Beretta
5) Taurus
6) CZ
7) Kahr
8) Kel Tec

HK
Beretta
GLOCK
SIG
Walther
CZ

Not in any specific order. The rest I don't care too much for, aside from the 1911.

Keep it up..and thanks

This is pretty interesting. H&K and Sig are mostly what you guys
like the best...deservedly so. Keep going with this thread if you
choose to , its all good info.

I HAVE to agree COMPLETELY about the Lorcin, Jennings, Bryco and Davis guns...ALL of mine ARE IN A SAFETY DEPOSIT box in a secret location. If I told you where these UTMOST valuable items are, I would have to kill you! Ba, ha ha ha ha.....

I dont have any personel experience with Hi Point So any opinion I would give would be talking out my A*S!

Shoot well

Info????

Eric,

What you have received is, at best, subjective information. It more accurately would be referred to as OPINION. There is a difference.

The question was asked to gather information. The only possible response to the question posed...would be ones opinion. The sum or total of the opinions given would be the INFORMATION I had asked for. Subjective or Objective...has no relevance..
Regardless, if the Information is based on opinions....it is information none the less.

Thanks for the response.....shoot well
