Punisher: Warzone guns and stuff...

I guess I'm the first TFLer to share the great & useful www.IMFdb.org with you.
I saw that Punisher film on www.Crackle.com .
It was okay but flawed in some ways. The 1980s/1990s Marvel comics I read as a teen-young adult seemed much better & realistic(firearms & weapons).
Frank Castle packed a # of guns in the films & the Marvel comics.
I think he used a Beretta 93R machine pistol a lot as well as HK MP5s & MPKs in 9x19mm.
In one issue, Castle smoke-checks a bad guy with a compact pistol in a NY deli sandwich.

Marvel Comics used to publish an annual titled "The Punisher Armory". It featured the various weapons and gear the Punisher used. It was written in such a way that you were reading The Punisher's personal notes, feelings and anecdotes about said weapons and gear. Some of it was pretty accurate and (looking back) some of it was pure BS as to be expected for a comic book (For example I remember The Punisher claiming that the FN90 and its associated round could penetrate 48 layers of kevlar.)
Still, it was a fun read.

IMFDB.org claims the Marvel Comics Punisher used the S-A 1911a1s in .45acp most often.
When I was a kid, Castle had various sidearms & weapons. I recall him packing 92Fs & the select fire 93Rs more than any milspec 1911s.
The character was a SE Asia combat veteran & it was noted that he served six/06 years continuously in combat(spec ops).
Castle was a USMC officer in ForceRecon.
This is a bit of a stretch since US DoD & MAC-V(Military Assistance Command-Viet Nam) regulations stated no commissioned officers could serve in SE Asia more than 36mo.
