pump shot gun not extracting

Ted Williams pump shotgun will not extract the shells even low base gets stuck in the chamber and has to be rodded out. This is a very old shotgun but is in good condition and has been in the family since it was new.

Is the extractor broken/missing?

no, the shell gets stuck in the chamber, almost like it is expanding against the chamber wall

Check to see if the extractor 'lip' is possibly broken off, or try using different or new shells


Ted Williams Model 200?

Take some steel wool (000) or so.... Oil it and clean the chamber up if it hasn't been used in some time. Might be fine rust and/or oil gum binding the shell.
