WELL, I HAD AN EVENT THAT HAPPENED TO ME. IN A MOST UNFORTUNATE/FORTUNATE
(FOR MY BODY AND WELL BEING) I MANAGED TO DROP MY LOADED PT-140 ON THE TILE FLOOR.
IT MANAGED TO FALL OUT OF MY IN-SIDE THE PANTS HOLSTER FROM UNCLE MIKES.
( I DON'T RECOMMEND) HAND GUN HIT THE FLOOR FROM ABOUT 18" WITH SAFETY ON.
THE IMPACT CAUSED THE SAFETY TO DIS-ENGAUGE AND THE FORCE CAUSED THE FIRNG PIN
TO HIT THE PRIMER. IF I HAD NOT HAD ON HEAVY HIKING BOOTS I WOULD HAVE HAD LOST A FOOT.
I PICKED COPPER AND LEAD FROM MOST OF THE WALLS. WIFE WAS NOT HOME BUT THE RATH WAS BRUTAL!!
I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH THE SAFETY SYSTEM ON THIS WEAPON. I AM THINKING ABOUT
GETTING A CZ75 IN THE 40 or THE LDA45.
THE FOLKS AT FACTORY DID REPLACE MY FRAME WITH A NEW ON THEY DID NOT AND
WOULD NOT RESPOND TO MY QUESTIONS. MY FRAME HAD POPED A COUPLE OF THE PLASTIC PINS.
ALL I CAN SAY IS BEWARE OF THE SAFETY SYSTEM.
when i did sent it off to the factory and they only replaced the intire frame but nothing else/
kept the same serial #. i ask for a response in the long letter i sent and
recieved nothing back but standard form letter that it was
covered under warranty????????????????? as you guys can guess
i was in the smallest room of the house!!! when this happened.
i have a constant reminder when i go in it knocked out a chunk of tile
and from the impression it was clear it was at point blank range.
i had to dig out the cooper jacket from the floor. so it appears to me
it was muzzle first. i asked if they could tighten up the safety. so it
would require a bit of effort to disengage. nothing was done. the thing
is the gun shoots great and i can shoot good groups for me that is.
i mostly carry a makarov as it feels solid and i shoot tighter groups with it.
if any body has any suggestions as to get the factory to respond in a positive manner let me know
