pt 145

Got a question 'bout the 145 (and not concerning the cracked slides/frames).

When I chamber a round, my indicator on the back of the pistol does not POP out? the built in Taurus lock is unlocked. I can't see a reason why it is not protruding.

Any ideas.

Thanks

I don't own a PT145 yet (probably in about a year or so) so I haven't examined the insides of them. I don't know the mechanism by which the indicator works so I can't help you much. My best advice would be to check with Taurus. Sorry I wasn't of much help.

However, my real reason to post here is to welcome you as I see that this is your first post. This is a great board where you can find a ton of useful (and entertaining) information. I would be very surprised if someone here can't help you.

What do you mean? "indicator on the back of the pistol?"
Do you mean the loaded chamber indicator? It's on the side of the pistol. I used to have a PT145 and I don't know of any indicator on the back??

The loaded chamber indicator is just above the extracter. It's a thin piece of metal with a red line on it the same shape as the extracter. It will stick out a little when the chamber is loaded.:D

that was it. my fault for the ignorance. I have another pistol where the loaded chamber indicator is in the very back directly in line with the firing pin. I made the assumption that the small round pin on the back of the pt145 was the same.

thanks for the information.
