PSL build

I'm looking at putting together my first 'AK pattern rifle' and I like the look of the PSL so I'm deciding to go with that. I've built other guns and I'm just wondering (because I've read this) that you need to push the front trunion off the barrel, rivet it into the receiver, then push the barrel back in.

Just wondering if this is a must do kind of thing or the barrel can stay in the trunion while riveting.

No one knows? I guess assembly is the same as an AK's... So to all the AK builders, can you rivet your trunion in without barrel removal?

Never built one myself but I believe its the same as an AK. I believe you will have take the barrel out of the front trunnion before riveting.

yep, remove the barrel

I have built two PSL's and a number of AK's. To do it properly the barrel should be removed. This will allow you to get the rivets installed properly.
The barrel pins tend to be hard to press out, getting access to a good 20ton press will make things easier
