anyone here have any dealings with palmetto state armory. their prices are very attractive. how are their products? do they fit well (mags, fittings ect.)? any quality issues, are there comparable alternatives i should consider first?

Lots of folks around Northwest Florida are happy with 'em :)

So far, no issues of note. But with all things, it helps to Inspect whatever you get carefully.
That way if you DO have an issue, you can handle it before you leave the store.

Kind of like buying a new motorcycle...know what to look for.

Excellent products and about the best prices you will find. I have dealt with them several times and always had only the best of service from them. Highly recommended.

PSA uses very high quality products. a lot of it is mil spec and they keep their prices very competetive. they are a small shop though and they have a very good reputation around the country so they are in a constant state of backorder during the heavier buying seasons. they have difficulty keeping track of customer service inquiries so it's probably best to deal with them on the phone rather than email.

I have built two of rifles from their parts (excluding rails) and they're awesome rifles. I also have a couple M&Ps and the PSA guns seem every bit as nice to me; alss my most accurate AR is one of my PSAs...

PSA products are high-quality. Many of there parts come from the same suppliers that ship to the FN plant (also in Columbia, SC) than manufactures the current military contract of M-16 rifles. PSA also offers FN-made barrels in many of their projects.

Personally, I have built a lower and bought other parts from them - all have been of a very high quality. Their standard trigger, for example, is probably the best of any standard AR trigger I've ever handled.

I haven't purchased a PSA upper yet (but my next one will likely be from them), but have handled them at their store in Columbia. Everything certainly looks good - bolts and barrels are properly tested, gas keys staked properly, etc.

I ordered 2 uppers from PSA during the Black Friday sale. One of them shipped out quickly, the other one didn't come until after Christmas and numerous emails to the company. After the late one did finally show up, they sent incorrect parts with it. I ordered the upper and a complete Magpul MOE lower build kit and they shipped it with a pistol buffer tube.

After numerous emails back to PSA, they did finally send me the correct buffer tube.

That one is over with and shoots just fine. The first upper that I received quickly has something wrong with the left side feed ramp. Every single round jams on that side. A pull and release of the bolt will usually slam it into the chamber. After firing, it slides right into the right feed ramp, fires, and then jams again. The bullet nose gets stuck between the lug slots. It looks like it might be a burr or something as it's actually cutting into the copper on the bullets. I've tried to contact PSA several times on suggestions or if they would like it shipped back for analysis. They will not respond. As of right now, I'm stuck with an upper that will shoot 2 rounds at a time.

I'll probably drop it off at a gunsmith to have them fix it, but I'm infuriated that PSA won't respond or stand by their products. I spend about 15k per year on firearms, and I will NEVER buy from them again. I'm glad that others have had good luck. Mine has been terrible.

I'll stick with Daniel Defense, BCM, and ASA.

great news. thanx folks. didnt want to consider any unworthy options . hey pluff does your most accurate ar have 16 or 20 barrel? what style? sad news about that last one, i guess every now and then one might get a lemon. it seems the majority likes them mostly. hate to hear of a guy being ripped though. hate to hear that happened

Ordered 10 boxes of .308, they sent me 10 of .223 (shipping manifest shows .308)

3 emails ignored over 10 business days.
2 phone calls directed to a full mail box and a disconnect.

If they would just call me Ill keep and pay for the darn .223s, I just want my .308s!!

Their rep is solid, I understand getting busy at times; what would you do in my shoes?

I'd call their storefront in Columbia. They answer that one; then have them transfer you to someone in the warehouse. Just a suggestion...

My experiences are very akin to Uncle Malices.

I refuse to buy thier uppers and I like thier lower parts so long as they actually ship it, and actually ship it with all the parts. Because if they dont good luck getting them to help you.

They have a good rep on some forums, and on others they are considered one of the worst manufactuers to buy from. Its amazing how night and day it is.

I can understand the will to save a few bucks and buyers bias, but not me. Ill be sticking to reputable dealers from here on out.

ordered a ctr stock kit, and all parts were fine but the receiver extension could have been higher quality. My next kit had a better tube.

I have built three complete lowers from them and I have two uppers every thing has been great so far.

My dealings with them in person and on the phone has been great also.

For those having trouble I don't know what number you are using, but I am going to list three numbers that when I call they always pickup for me.

Columbia, SC Store 803-788-5755
Columbia, SC Store 803-240-2347
Beaufort, SC Store 843-379-4867 (ask for Amy she is the manager very nice and very helpful)

I used email, 2 different phone numbers, left messages and used thier forum.

Once I was able to contact them after many, many tries, they were genuinely unhelpful and were obviously just saying what they could to get me off of the phone. I was completely calm and collected and said nothing close to sarcastic or offencive. It was not until I informed them that I had gone to my bank to discuss redacting charges to my account and claiming them to be fraudulent that they ATTEMPTED to help me. This was after almost 3 months of constant attempts at contact and zero effort on thier part to assist me.

Never again.

Both are PSA lowers and one is a M&P15T upper.

They have been flawless so far with M855 ammo.
