Provide the Following Documents..

According to packing.org, in Massachusetts I am required to Provide the following documentation for my CCW pistol permit.

(1) copy of your Mass Drivers License
(1) copy of your Birth Certificate
(1) Two Page Applicaiton
(2) Fingerprint Cards
(2) Photographs
(1) 100.00$ license fee
Proof of MA residence (utility, Cable bill)
Proof of completeing approved safety course and use of pistol/revolvers
Letter of good cause statement to the issuing authority if Class A " all lawfull purposes"

I live in Gloucester,Ma and wonder if anyone else here has gone thru the same process here.

Fingerprint cards.. according to packing im expected to provide these?? where and how do i go about getting this done?
and does anyone know what the size of the photographs required are.
1"x1" ,1 1/2" x 1 1/2" ? something else?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

packing.org is a good site to get guidelines. I'd suggest you now go to the state for the specifics. Fingerprints must be done by the police to ensure they're your's.
 
those are my states specifics.
amazing that none of those things other than the photo's are required by the application itself.
im simply following their guidelines to ensure i have all my bases covered.

theres evidently no standard photo size for this state.. so im unsure what size photo to use, even GOAL has no idea..
this state is ridiculous.

You are absolutely correct, MA is absolutely ridiculous, I lived there for about 5 years in the 80's. I found I even needed a permit to buy tear gas spray. There is no consistency, each local police chief sets their own standard for issuing. It's without a doubt the most gun hostile state in the Union and will only get uglier, especially after those two road rage shootings in Brockton and Lynn. Good luck, I feel for you brother.

I meant that you need to get the information from a state agency, not a info website. Call the local PD if you can't find a Mass.gov site.
 
You may not need photographs

Many towns are now on the MIRCS system and your picture will be taken by a computer camera. Your prints will also be taken on a touch pad.

If not, use passport-sized photos. The police will take your prints, regardless.

You do NOT need to be a resident of the town, IF

1. You are applying for an LTC; and

2. You have a "place of business" in that town.

"Letters of recommendation" are NOT required by the statute!
